GB100 Trivia Question …

Ok Panthers, here’s our first GB100 trivia contest …

Which teacher, counting years after 1960, had the longest teaching career at GB? (ie don’t count teaching years in 1959 or earlier)

We’ll do a random draw at our May 7 Alumni Re-Connect and the first entry that we pull with the correct answer will win an official GB hoodie!!!

Everyone at the Re-Connect will get an entry into the draw. We’ll announce the winner and correct answer at the Re-Connect on May 7 and will post here shortly afterwards.

Contest for Class Year With Most Attending

For May 7, near the lunchroom (our main event room), we’ll also have 3 classrooms.  We’ll be reserving at least one of them for the class year with the most people attending our May 7 event.

If your class signs up at least 20 people, you’ll get the room all to yourselves. For smaller sign-ups, we might split the room for two classes to share.

So far, classes of ’77 and ’84 appear to be in a neck-and-neck race, with several people signed up each so far!

Calling All Volunteers for May 7

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS FOR MAY 7 RE-CONNECT …
 
Our May 7 Alumni Re-Connect is quickly approaching … it’ll be a success if we all pitch in … can you help with any of the following?  Visit our Send a Question page if you can help …
 
– SET-UP – 3 people to help set up, from 1pm-1:30pm – setting up welcome table, putting up signs, possibly arranging tables/chairs, etc, the usual set-up tasks
 
– REFRESHMENTS – 10 people each to bring $10 worth of pop/water/juice/cookies/paper cups & plates/napkins … you’ll be reimbursed at the event – you’d take home your left-overs
 
– WELCOME TABLE – 3 people to be “greeters” from 1:30-1:50pm and 3 people 1:50-2:15pm – we’ll have a table at the lunchroom – great way to re-connect w/GBers as they come in
 
– EVENT ASSISTANTS – 3 people to help where needed during the event (tidy the refreshments table, locate caretaker, …)
 
– CLEAN-UP – 4 people to help clean up, from 5pm-5:30pm

Added GB Notable Events

Today added GB Notable Events, including a starter list of stage performances, sports championships, and scholastic competitions (eg Reach for the Top, Science Fair, Math Contests).  We’ve just begun, please send us any info we’ve neglected or got wrong.  Enjoy!

GB Notable Events

MAY 7 – CALLING REFRESHMENTS VOLUNTEERS

Just one month to go before our GB Alumni Re-Connect … time to iron out details! We could use 10 volunteers willing to purchase $10 of refreshments – your choice of water, pop, juice and/or cookies, and some paper plates and cups. We’ll reimburse you at the event. We’d ask that you bring the refreshments, unpack in the lunchroom and pack up and take home at the end. Interested in helping out?

Our website went live on March 26 and today we’ve added a few vintage photos and more detailed info about the May 7/16 event.  Just over a month before the event, please RSVP, we’d love to have you join us!
