Part of our GB100 project is to rally alumni to help our ol’ school with projects and activities that it might not ordinarily have funds for.
You can make unrestricted donations to the school any time for any amount or indicate specific programs or activities for your donation.
Here are some Alumni-initiated fundraising efforts that you might like to contribute towards:
- GB Memorial Alumni Endowment Funds – Launched in June 2017, these funds recognize some of our most cherished teachers, in areas related to their subject areas. More info at GB Memorial Alumni Endowment Funds.
- Alumni Book Prizes – We’ll be awarding our first batch of 9 book prizes at grad in June 2017, to 3 students in each of Grade 9, 10, and 11. More info at GB Alumni Book Prizes.
- Peter Pura Memorial Prize in Math and Computer Science – Begun by a GB alumnus in 2015 as part of GB100 to remember one of our favorite teachers who left us in 2014.
- Or create a new prize/scholarship, in consultation with the school.
As well GB’s Greenspace project, the wonderful field on the west side of the school, continues to look for support. Funds are still needed to complete the project, including the community gardens.
Donations should be made to “Children’s Heritage Fund” (Winnipeg School Division’s charitable donations fund) with sub-note “For Gordon Bell/specific project”.
Cheques can be mailed to:
Gordon Bell High School
3 Borrowman Place
Winnipeg MB R3G 1M6.
Also indicate your grad class year, as we’ll be keeping track of donations by class year to see which classes raise the most – our target is $5k for each class every year leading to GB’s Centennial. Click here for an updated list of alumni and classess who’ve made donations.
